The Office of Engaged Scholarship & Learning supports three awards:
· The Engaged Scholar/Artist Award for Undergraduate Research,
· The Engaged Scholar/Artist Award for Creative Works,
· The Engaged Scholar/Artist Award for Community Engagement.
These awards provide you with the opportunity to fund original academic research, creative arts, and community engagement projects. Receiving an Engaged Scholar and Artist Award (ESAA) will help you:
· Gain real-world experience. Transform your undergraduate education through experiential learning leading to the communication of your work to the public, profession, and peers.
· Experience one-on-one mentoring. Working directly with a faculty mentor will help you develop knowledge and skills in your area, provide support, and develop professional relationships to foster success in the collegiate environment and beyond.
· Build your professional/career identity. An ESAA will help you build your curriculum vita (CV), Resumé, or Portfolio. You will have opportunities to develop professional networks beneficial for graduate school or early career.      Prior to submitting your online proposal, carefully read the ESAA Policies. To assist you in completing this application, complete the ESAA Worksheet prior to beginning this online application. * For accommodations in completing and submitting this application, please contact our office at esaa@utrgv.edu, calling 956-665-3461/956-882-4304, or by scheduling an in-office visit at BINAB 1.105 or ESTAC 3.106.
